Some COVID-19 antibody tests show a value while others do not. If your results do not show a value, it may be because:
- The test you ordered is a qualitative test that can only check for the presence (positive/detected) or absence (negative/not detected) of antibodies, and does not provide the value.
- Or the test that you ordered is a semi-quantitative test and the results were normal (negative). In this case, a value will not be provided. A value is only provided if the test results are positive. Each lab determines its own limits for positive antibody results.
If you have a positive antibody value, it should not be used to determine your level of immunity. Talk to your healthcare provider for additional guidance on how to interpret your test results.
