If you are eligible to receive a booster shot, the timing of the booster dose depends on which vaccination you originally received:
- Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen - a booster is recommended at least two months after the single dose shot.
- Pfizer-BioNTech - a booster dose is recommended at least 5 months after their original series was completed
- Moderna - a booster dose is recommended at least 6 months after their original series was completed
Additionally, a second booster dose is recommended if:
- You are over the age of 50, and it has been at least 4 months since you received an initial booster dose. You may receive a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna booster.
- You are over the age of 12, are immunocompromised, and it has been at least 4 months since you received an initial booster dose. You may receive the Pfizer-BioNTech booster.
- You are over the age of 18, are immunocompromised, and it has been at least 4 months since you received an initial booster dose. You may receive the Moderna booster.
