In general, over-the-counter medications, like cough drops, lozenges, fever-reducing medications, and substances that help with mucus (like guaifenesin and drinking water), can be helpful in managing COVID-19 symptoms. There is currently no evidence that zinc, vitamin C, and other supplements prevent or decrease the duration of COVID-19. If you have specific questions about supplements, be sure to follow up with your healthcare provider. Some supplements may interact with other medications you’re taking. Your healthcare provider can give you more specific information based on your medical history.
