What happens if I have a positive flu test?

A positive result means that the flu test detected influenza A and/or B viruses. Stay home and avoid contact with other people. If you have symptoms of the flu and are in a high risk group, or are very sick and worried about your illness, contact your healthcare provider. It is recommended that antiviral treatment begin within 2 days after illness onset, if appropriate.
