Can an antibody test help diagnose COVID-19?

An antibody test cannot be used to diagnose COVID-19. Antibody tests can help us understand how the immune system responds to COVID-19 and how many people have been infected. In the future, an IgG antibody test may be able to tell us whether an individual has immunity against COVID-19.
