There are many things to think about when it comes to traveling during this pandemic. Unfortunately, travel increases the risk of getting and spreading COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay home and delay any travel plans you may have until you are fully vaccinated or follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for people who are not fully vaccinated when traveling. However, if you are planning on taking a trip, there are certain steps you can take to ensure the safety and health of yourself and those around you.
If you decide to take a trip and travel outside your community, visit the CDC website for information on travel considerations. In addition, you’ll want to look at state and local travel restrictions as well as state, territorial, tribal and local public health websites for information before traveling.
